The Constitution reads for "high crimes and misdemeanors" and have these ever been defined and further can they ever be defined as such would be a list of which are and which are not. Moreover such a list would mark a boundary which one could skate just inside.

That idea raises an important question for me, but I'll illustrate with a basketball analogy.
This happens a LOT in youth games and the officials seldom know what to do. Player A shoots at the wrong basket and is fouled by player B from the opposing team, as both kids forgot which basket is which. Is player A awarded free throws for being fouled in the act of shooting?
In Trump's case, if Trump were to be proven to have impeded an investigation into foundless allegations, into no crime, has he actually obstructed justice? That's a hell of a tactic to implant into the political arena......again. Accuse your opponent of a false allegation and convict him/her for his/her behavior during the inquest.
