That would almost be fun to see. I wonder how long it would take to clean up the mess they made.

It's good to remember that impeachment is simply bringing charges against a sitting president. Then the process moves to the Senate which would hold the trial. Conviction by the Senate is required to affect the presidency. So far, two presidents have been impeached. However, neither was tried by the Senate and neither left office as a result.

That would be in keeping with the circus it is at the moment. Laughing stock.

Andrew Johnson was tried in the Senate, as was Bill Clinton. However, neither was convicted. President Johnson survived by one v**e; President Clinton survived by a tie v**e on one charge, and an outright acquittal on the second.

It’ll be nice to see TRAMPO get impeached by the House for a REAL crime, not just lying about getting a Blow Job!!!
The senate will have to trash the constitution and look the other way to save him from impeaching for REAL crimes.
It’ll be a sham of a shame!!!

Nothing will ever be as satisfying as Angry Johnny humiliation at the b****t box. No one wants to endure tweets from a self-pitying sidelines martyr until the day he carks it.

What 'REAL crime' has been committed by President Trump?

Will it be nice? I remember when Bill Clinton was impeached (and got away with perjury). What a circus that was and a huge distraction. We don't need another one. If it does happen I think it will only further polarize the country. If he's not found guilty democrats won't believe it and won't let it go. If he is I don't see republicans letting it go. We have some huge issues that go far beyond continually taking shots at a president.

The time is and has been ripe for a democrat to step up and show some leadership. No typical finger pointing politician but a solid leader. They're blowing it. There has to be somebody.

OK

Pence can pardon him on federal crimes, not impeachment.
Further, the VP appointment would require Senate approval, which means the people who just v**ed to oust him, would have to v**e to make him VP.

What, in God's name, would motivate Pence to resign?

Removal requires a 2/3rd v**es, so the 50/50 v**e was an outright acquittal as well. And note that there were bipartisan v**es to acquit for both charges.

A two thirds majority v**e is required in the Senate to remove a president from office. In Clinton’s case, 67 v**es to convict were required to remove Clinton from the presidency. The 50 v**es to convict Clinton on one of the charges fell 17 v**es shy of the required 67 v**es. Clinton was therefore acquitted on both charges.

In Johnson’s case, the v**e to convict was 35-19 (27 states eligible to v**e as the Confederate states Dad not been readmiited to the senate at the time of the v**e). A 2/3rd majority was required to convict so Johnson avoided conviction by one v**e.
