Every citizen of our country has the right to protest, it’s the time and place I disagree with. You should not have the right to protest on the job and not expect to lose that job, in this case when the public is paying him. Yes we are paying all those celebrities salaries through commercialism and if you don’t think so see how fast professional football or any professional sport would be around if the companies advertising pull out.

Then one of the political parties started courting extremist, by extremist I mean anyone with a point of view that won't compromise their position. To them it is black and white, yes or no. There is no grey area on their issues, if there is no compromise, as in guns, one side will not allow any laws, or regulation, period and a******n, where again, one side sees it as a black and white, legal or illegal, and when you can't compromise nothing will get done.

It seems that continual compromising is what got us here. You cant compromise morals and ethics for the sake of getting past an agenda, or marking something off the docket. All that happens is another worsened agenda is created. At some point one must stand ground and never give in. We are at that point now, because of previous "compromises".

That statement is what is wrong with our country.

Interesting--check our history and you’ll see that our country was built on compromise. Many of our founding fathers detested one another, but they c*********d for the greater good of forming our nation. As I see it, nothing much gets done in Washington today because of a refusal to compromise.

Firstly let me be very clear. I have no desire or intention to get into a US political debate. We have enough issues with politics on this side of the pond.
My enquiry is that of an outsider looking in! Nothing more.
I accept the norm is to stand for any countries National Anthem. But I guess the OP's topic is referring to one of your footballers going down on one knee during your Anthem. When I watched that I thought it odd but then I thought he is subjugating himself before his and your National F**g. I felt that doing so was more respectful that even standing. I'm guessing that kneeling in a church is still in order, so why not on a football field?

Please no political comments. Just a curious question seeking an answer.

Actually, the kneelers at football games were kneeling in disrespect to the f**g by refusing to stand and respect it. Ask any of them and they will tell you.

Social change has always been slow and difficult. Your opinion that these team players are 'trashing America' is yours. It is easy to conclude that you are white, accustomed to a good life-style and not willing to be empathetic. Other than that, you are probably a nice guy.

"Easy to conclude"....Talk about narrow minded. You have absolutely know idea of what this person thinks, acts or even does. Doesn't say much about your open-mindedness, tolerance or maybe even your intelligence, or lack of. And yes you do have a right to express your opinion, no matter how ignorant it may sound.

Cheers

exakta56 take your r****t views elsewhere. I thought this was a photography forum? Why does this crap get play here. I thought this was one place we could get away from this crap and talk about something we all have a common enjoyment for.

We don't know what these players contribute to, nor can we assume they all drive Ferrari's so stop that nonsense.

Recently a black security guard who had a gun out, and capturing a CRIMINAL and the security guard was shot and k**led.

After the War of Northern Aggression we all became s***es to the Federal Government AND we allow the politicians to divide us along racial, g****r, religion, creed and other ways. By being divided the Federal Government and all the State Houses take advantage of all us, except their buddies of course.

Dino21, That's why they have various divisions within on this forum and this will be most likely be under 'General Chit-Chat'. Its also easy to stick to the photographic sections and not get involved in the political hum-drum of off-topic posts.....cheers.

What a great performance of our National Anthem. I grew up going to Michigan football games. Before the game, the f**g was presented by Michigan ROTC cadets and raised as the band played the National Anthem. Always great. Once a year, a gigantic U.S. f**g has been unfurled by the band. It covers the field. The tradition continues. Go Blue!!

Perhaps....but doesn't mean it has to happen here. Another reason for closed borders IMHO.
