Pentax still makes the “645” in a digital version. Medium format about 50 megapixel, I think. Autofocus. Too expensive for me.
Besides I still have my Mamiya 645.

All my Nikon F series bodies are now obsolete, and sleep happily in their boxes.

Got any good ones you want to sell?

Me too. Great cameras. We have model night at the club tonight and I plan to shoot it with Portra 160 in my M645. Last weekend I shot fall colors with Ektar in the M645.

The problem is that there are more photographers using Nikon and Canon. Pentax is known to me since 1958. At the time they did not have the best glass but that has changed considerably and today Pentax cameras and lenses are of excellent quality.

I'm not sure what they were making in 1958.

In 1964 they made the Takumar 50mm f/1.4, which was known as "the Zeiss killer" because it was at least as good as the comparable Zeiss lens. I purchased one last week because it works on a modern Pentax camera, needing only a simple ring adapter issued by Pentax when they went to the K-mount in 1975.

There are rumors floating around about some special promotions/events being planned for the 100th anniversary of Pentax next year but the details are being withheld.

'Rumor' is probably not best choice of word - yes, details are being "withheld", but at Photokina 2018, Ricoh announced definite plans for special events to celebrate 100th anniversary of Asahi Optical Company - the guys who started Pentax.

I have a camera club friend who shoots only with Pentax, and his are some of the best photos we see.

Actually my first camera over 50 years ago was a Pentax Spotmatic.

Honestly did not even know they still were making cameras.

I think you are the contributor that inquired about my Nikon F's. They are beautiful but I will never use film again . I bought 2 Nikon D700's which are FX and accept all my 35mm Nikon lenses. I clicked the reply below your message.

I have an F4 that is like new. It's shutter went out and Nikon replaced it. It was the first item I bought on ebay in 2002. I take motherly care of my things and it is like new. Last time I used it, it worked fine. I don't know how many clicks I put on it. I would guess 150-200 rolls worth, and it has a fairly new shutter. It is the F4s I think it was called with the auxiliary battery holder, 6 AAs.

I have an N90s, which may as well be an F camera with metal body. I bought it new. It was treated lovingly and has no signs of wear. Last time I used it, I worked famously. The rubber coating on the body has become sticky , as has the cover on the F100 next. The F4 is not sticky. Sticky is mild and I don't think it would impair its use.

Third, I have an F100. I bought it new, treated it motherly, and no signs of wear. I am a serious snapshooter/photographer but did not put thousands of clicks on it or any of the above.

4th, I have an F3 with no blemishes, metal case with foam break away inside, SB16 and SB12 flashes with regular and F3 mounts (for the flash; there are 2 different ones). I did not put a lot of shots on the shutter.

I cannot tell you how many clicks, but they all look new. Digital cameras list clicks as much as 1-200,000. None of these are near that.

I can send you pictures and take photos and send. I love them all, but retreat from the advantages of digital is just impossible. Digital is what Polaroid tried to achieve all it's life and has so many variables to fine tune EACH picture.

I loved photography and used the cameras on trips, shooting 15-25 rolls a trip, and around home. None have high numbers of clicks.
I rotated cameras on trips which decreased there shutter actuations individually.

If you are interested in any or all, I can shoot film and have it written to CD. I don't want to shoot 4 camera's worth unless you are interested in all 4. It would take a lot of time.

I have other lenses mostly Vivitar. We'll worry about bodies first. You may have no interest in those.

I have Omega C760 color enlarger in mint condition I haven't used in 20 years and won't ever.
It has a 50mm enlarger lens; I don't remember brand but could look it up. It has 4.5 x 6 Negative adapter I think and the internal 4.5x6 diffuser for the larger negatives.

Thanks for your interest.
Jim

"quote reply" would copy the message you are responding to.

It is nice you have room for all these boxes. My packing material gets recycled next pickup and cameras spend their time in bags snuggling with lenses, ready to work. I used my Pentax Super Program for twelve years straight; I also used it last Friday .... it shows having lived a tough life. I then used several Canons - most of which died and are now in the dump. Now I'm using a Pentax K-30, which shares lenses with the Super Program.
