I had not heard of Gallipoli until I attended the Australia dedication of their Vietnam Memorial in Canberra. Just unbelievable.....page after page of casualties. What bravery and sacrifice. Sadly, I suppose this is what happens when civilians plan an invasion against the advise and opinions of professionals.

I agree Blackhorse 1-7 And thank you for looking in.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.
If you wish feel free to add your lost family hero's name.
My Grandfather
WW1 Casualty: Private 12615 Samuel Thomas Heyes
Gallipoli. killed 10 August 2015

Hi Angler
Nice Job.
Someone else noted. Did you mean 10 August 1915?
What country did he fight for? The United States entered the war in April of 1917.

Beautiful shot, Jim! Al's uncle, Vincent Nase, died a day before he was to come home in WWI.

Thanks for looking in Sue and that must have been a terrible shock to Al's family.Such a waste of life in that terrible war.
