I have ordered them for various camera's and never had an issue and if you do end up damaging it just throw it and order a new one. Wireless remotes for the D500 are available from $10.99 upwards, why pay hundreds of dollars for a Nikon one, it doesn't do a better job

I purchased the Pix-L for about $30. It has the function of simple single shoot, one second continuous shoot, Bulb shoot, the customized delay shoot and Timer plan shoot. Works great
