I forced myself to take a picture of something I rarely look at.

Excellent. The lighting and detail are exquisite.

Thanks, the back lighting from the sun was so bright things were right on the edge of being washed out so I toned things down in PP.

Jerry, fantastic close up with excellent detail. I actually traded in all my macro lenses at this time since I hardly ever used them and used one of my close focusing zoom lens.

Thanks very much. I often use this lens for flower closeups when I don't feel like carrying my 180 macro or for a spur of the moment shot.
My 180 teamed with a Kenko Pro 300 1.4x on a crop sensor camera give the angle of view of 403 mm while keep excellent IQ. I often use it for hummingbirds at the feeders since I can sit in a lawn chair close to them and they ignore me.

That’s nice--looks a lot like foxtail.

Thanks, don't know what it is, it is over 6 feet tall and grows in big clusters. Maybe some relation of Pampas Grass.

Must not have been too windy.

Just a very light breeze I could hardly feel with totally calm spells.

Echo that. If viewers have not done the download, they should. The change was dramatic on my screen.

Thanks
The mustard yellow color on UHH affects the way I see image and download changes that.

Very nice Jerry! I frequently use my 70-200 with a 1.4 for flowers, insects and other things small. Not having to get on the ground makes it a much more desirable method then shooting a macro lens. Not that macros don't have their place as well.

Thanks, that is more or less my thinking.
