I am spending a week with my sister, who lives in SMA, to witness the celebrations involved with the Days of the Dead, which start on October 31 and go through November 2. As I work on my photos I will submit more posts.

San Miguel de Allende is a beautiful town in the central mountains of Mexico - although it lacks the appeal of the beaches and turquoise waters of Cancun, it attracts its share of tourists and retirees. It is a tidy, safe, pretty little town.

The homes are typical colonial design - walls built out to the street, but often beautiful inner courtyards and patios, including sometimes patios on the rooftop overlooking the city.
