Facts? Invade Mexico?
What would we gain by invading Mexico?

The Federal law providing the President with the authority to protect the border, also allows troops to occupy foreign land to protect the borders. So, troops don't have to remain on U.S. soil to stop the invasion.

Those who use "Posse Comitatus" are not correct. Protecting the borders in not law enforcement.

What is ICE operating under then.
The military has a long history of enforcing laws.

The military may not be used as law enforcement except in times of r*******n and civil unrest. That determination is made by the President, and he always uses his Attorney General for legal advice in these areas. Federal troops have been dispatched to r**tous areas such as Los Angeles and Detroit during r**ts. Those areas were determined to be in a state of civil r*******n, overwhelming local law enforcement. It was also determined by President Eisenhower, that people were in a state of r*******n when he sent Federal troops to protect children when Little Rock schools were integrated.

The President's actions do not violate the Posse Comitatus laws. The Border Patrol, ICE, etc., will still enforce i*********n l*ws. The Federal troops are there to provide logistical support. That's not law enforcement.

Well, the Army being the Army the commanders need planning time. First, they need to survey the territory to best be able to deploy their resources, like the best positions for machine gun nests and mortar implacements and where sharp bayonnets are better.

What a lame and juvenile comeback. As was pointed out, PR has v**ed numerous times on Statehood, but has neglected to approve the measure. Your reasoning that Republicans are to blame simply shows your ignorance of the issue...

What has been lacking, of course, is any reference to these statements. I posted one that contradicted the notion that PR has v**ed against statehood. Here is another:

https://thehill.com/blogs/congress-blog/politics/398410-puerto-rico-has-v**ed-for-statehood-twice

Needless to say, PR cannot v**e themselves into statehood. That requires an act of Congress. And Republicans won't support statehood for PR (or DC, or Guam) because they would likely be Democrat and that just can't be allowed. You know, will of the people and all that.

Republicans are repressive autocrats dev**ed to suppressing the v**e and the will of the people. As is being demonstrated during this current e******n cycle. V**er suppression and disenfranchisement of the tools of choice to keep the public in check. They target minorities with with bureaucratic tricks to keep them from v****g. Or with political tricks (like robocalls with the wrong e******n date).

Slimy. D********g. I'd say un-American, but that's clearly not the case. V**er suppression is a key staple of the founding of America.

Not v**er suppression if the v**ers can't fill out registration forms correctly, more likely illiteracy or possibly an attempt to v**e more than once..... Gee, think that may be intentional in order to deceive the registrars. Don't forget that what you call suppression rules apply to Republicans as well as Democrats and since Democrats are "More highly educated", then they should be less apt to not fill forms out incorrectly. As for your links, they are opinion pieces and blogs. Try to link to an actual bill instead... I can link to opinion pieces and blogs that state otherwise as well. Does that make me correct, no just like your links don't make your assertions correct.

That makes no sense. You just said that a Salvadoran can't run a taco truck.

Go ahead.

There is no bill. PR can't have a bill. Congress won't have a bill. Thus, no bill.

Oh, but there is a lot of bull.
