I appreciate you checking it out.

It may need to be viewed in a larger format, perhaps. The scene involves the time expression element. The view is to suggest past (foreground). present (midground), and future (background) in the same scene.

I know from experience that we all can not see necessarily the same things because of our diverse backgrounds.

Hopefully some of my other shots will connect.

Thanks, guess I'm a little to diverse for this one!

Please remain so. We need all the diversity in our world.

Stephan: artists, like painters, sculptors, photographers, poets, etc., in order to convey their meanings, employ, various techniques such as allegories, moods, colors, shapes, metaphors symbolisms, zoomorphism, etc.

Here you are explaining time expression for your composition, but if you, impartially, like most of the poster did for your picture take a look from afar, you will see that what's in your mind/picture did not convey the time expression that you were trying to present.

Neither your foreground, middle ground, nor background, conveyed by any method, such as symbolism, zoomorphism, allegory, etc., the concept of past, present, or future. I can see mood, but nothing else.
In other words the elements as presented, do not convey to the viewer what you intended to do. Keep trying.

I appreciate your concern and commentary. Unlike you, I do not shortchange your capabilities. As the author, I do not expect every one to understand, nor appreciate, what I put out. I do know that there are people who do see what I saw. My statements here are pointers towards what I was seeing. However I am not expecting to have direct matches since I am going after more than the 'aha's. I fully appreciate that none of us are the same in life experience. It would be a dull world if this was not so.

I love to ask youngsters what they see when I come across them at places like Chicago Art Institute.
You might want to listen to them. And ask why they see and what makes them see it.

And I do suggest that you keep trying as well, to understand what you see.

Best of all the season to you and yours.

PS, it is still OK to say "I don't get it."
