I am having no luck using Snapbridge with my new Nikon Coolpix P1000. Can anyone help please or suggest an alternative way to transfer images to my iPad whilst away from the computer?

It’s awful at best
I no longer even try to use the app

It Works fine for me. Make sure you get the iPad bluetooth (in settings) to see the camera, the pair the two.

I played with it some, it won't transfer RAW files, if I recall right, just jpgs.

I do not have a P1000, I have a D7500. I would not be caught dead with an iPad, but the app is SnapBridge.

Here is a link to a thread where I detail how to use SnapBridge to connect my D7500 with my Samsung Note 8.

Maybe that will help you.

Is your iPad fully charged and is the battery in your camera fully charged? That is the only way it will work for me.

I rarely have issues......Nikon has detailed instructions which can be downloaded to your device.

Nikon should either get that to work or dump it. It's a bad mark on every camera that has it.

Make sure Bluetooth is on for both devices then follow the directions carefully. Bluetooth is used to establish the connection between your IPAD & Camera and is used to transfer stubs to the iPhone. When you want to download the full file (JPEGS only, that's why I shoot RAW and JPEG), you have to establish a WIFI connection - another process different from the Bluetooth. It works if everything is on and you follow each step. The biggest problem I have is switching between two devices - my iPhone and iPad. That's a different issue.

Agree. I'm close to giving up with Snapbridge. As another said, you have to capture a JPEG (e.g. JPEG or RAW+JPEG). Reconnecting the camera with Snapbridge is a pain. Usually, in my iPhone, in Bluetooth, I have to forget the previous connection and start over. Perhaps, the Nikon-Snapbridge geeks should take a look at "Arsenal's" better connectivity and download features. Example, on my Nikon D850, I capture in RAW only. However, Arsenal downloads a 3.3MB, 4000 x 2666 pixel JPEG to my iPhone for viewing, saving, editing, emailing, etc.

I’m also a user of Olympus and with the Olympus Share app it works every time for;
Jpgs transfer to any of my Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, laptop)
Control of my camera
And lastly it was easy and seamless to setup with wif
Every time I want to use the app it is so simple I don’t have to “discover” the camera every time
Turn on camera in menu turn on WiFi
I turn on settings WiFi select the camera
Go to Olympus Share start the app
That’s it only 3 steps every time
From there I can download 1 or all or select photos to down load
Or I can control my camera
Never going to the worthless Snapbridge again
When Nikon had the Mu-4 adapter that was easy but not so much with snapcrap

I am new to the DSLR world, buying my D5600 a few weeks ago. I am not having the issues I heard described. Maybe updating the app in your phone/tablet. The problem I do have is snapbridge does not automatically transfer video taken. Any ideas ?

It doesn't do videos, only jpegs.

Thanks for all the advice. For some reason I’m not getting notifications when replies are sent. I do have the relevant box ticked in my profile.
