I like the scene a lot. I feel the house pulls my eye more than I like, away from what I enjoy about it. I tried some slight cropping on the right to diminish that effect. It is the brightest value in the shot. Thats probably what it is.

Great shot. The house is blown out. A problem that I have with whites of all genres as well. Could you bring in the whites of the house a bit?

Thanks for the comments, everybody. Much appreciated. I do have a sunnier version of the same scene that I'll be posting later. Between the two this was the one that I was drawn to work on first. Misty scenes don't always come out with such an "intended" look . Fortunately the mistiness is relegated to the distant background. As far as the house goes, that's what fresh whitewash looks like so I'll go with that.
