I have EYE-AF programmed to the focus-stop button, but wasn't able to use it for this quick grab shot. My purpose was not a model shot, but a quick test of the sharpness of this lens at f1.4, and the lens passed the test. I bought this lens for its shallow depth of field so I am aware and quite capable of using it to my advantage. These were just first test shots, while walking my dog. Yes I made them with one hand (no extra hand to hit eye-af, which yes can be programmed to the AEL button for one-handed activation) while holding my eager and pulling new 62 pound dog Oscar at the end of his leash with my other hand. I like my Eye-Af programmed to the lens focus stop button. I love how you wish to school an award-winning pro of over 40 years how and when to use shallow or extended depth of field . LOL
https://www.facebook.com/GSWilliamsPhotography/Every semester and every course I have taught depth-of-field to hundreds of my university photography students over the years. I excuse you, you just didn't know the circumstances of my one-handed use here. The camera grabbed face detect, but I had no extra finger or hand to hit Eye-AF. Wasn't worth losing my eager new dog just to get eye-af on a test grab shot, a feature which I have used countless thousands of times on my A6500, A7RII, A7RIII and A7III for my professional and personal work since I switched to Sony mirrorless back in January 2017. Cheers

My apologies if I offended you. You are correct, I did not know about the dog. I was only commenting on what I saw in the pictures.
I am on the wait list for this lens, but now I am having doubts based on the results posted by a renowned expert such as yourself.

This Sony 24mm f1.4 G-Master lens is already a smash hit with shooters around the world. No reason to have any doubts. I have other G-Master lenses and this one is superb. Yes maybe I should have mentioned these were shot one-handed ,but you are the first person in the world (either on facebook or UHH) to have found such fault with the photos, and not be able to see the superb sharpness. Again the sharpness and clarity is super, even at shallow depth of field at f1.4.

It’s Sad there are so many Sony haters g! No matter how much information you provide proving Sony makes the Best mirrorless cameras available the Canon and Nikon fanboys will continue to ignore the facts! A previous poster stated “I’d Never buy a camera from a company that made toasters and radios!” I don’t understand that logic.

Are you sure it's "logic"?
“I’d Never buy a camera from a company that made toasters and radios!”
To me, that's more of an emotionally based statement, than "logic".
Your correct no logic behind that Rediculous statement!

In honor of the visionary Stan Lee who passed away Monday. Here is a shot of mine of a younger Stan Lee in his NYC offices of Marvel Comics. I asked him how great it was to be Stan Lee and I got this shot. made with a Canon F1 film camera, Tri-X film, 400 ASA, 1/125 sec, f5.6, 24mm lens
