Two Guys from Harrison, by any chance? More memories from my youth. You’re on a roll this AM!

We’d better stop now. We are rudely hijacking this thread.

I apologize but I need to add this, my first job after the Navy was with Lafayette Radio in Newark NJ and one of my duties was checking those tubes for your dads.

We now return to our regularly scheduled program

No Shooter...but its possible...reset and it is shooting 5 fps...going to check it out in daylight... the factory reset kept all of her settings...So it a true reset?
I agree that bracking may be the first culprit. Bracketing does not cancel when camera power is cycled. The more a camera has to "think" the slower the frame rate. Turn off everything that's automatic including focusing, exposures, etc. Factory reset does NOT necessarily reset everything. Removing the battery for awhile my help; but many cameras have an internal battery or capacitor to save settings (e.g. clock). Try resetting via menu, remove battery, wait until clock dies, reinsert battery and try again.

Remember that when you reset to factory specs, you need to return all your controls from normal jpeg to raw, and check all your setting that they are where you want them.

What was her shutter speed. It needs to be faster than the frames per second... just a thought!!

The wife's D810 is acting strangely. In Continuous High it is only taking 2 frames in a burst...and it its changing settings by itself. We shoot in manual. Her shutter speed can change from like 400 to 1250...and the f stop will go from f/8 to like f/22. She is insistent that her fingers are not anywhere near the control dials in her grip. The camera probably has a shutter count of 160,000... ideas anyone?

Does her camera have a battery grip? I have a D810 and once I had the battery grip not seated well and the camera started acting crazy, shooting oddly and erratically shutting off. I reseated the battery grip, reset the factory settings and it worked like brand new. Low/bad batteries will also cause some funky reactions or simply fail to activate shutter.
