Hi Chief, We spent 3 days at Dulini Lodge, just south of Kruger Park. We saw all five of the Big Five in less than an hour. Then we were in Tswalu which is in the Kalahari Desert. They had everything except elephants there. Both places went out of their way to make sure that we enjoyed ourselves. And we did. I haven't been to East Africa so I can't speak to that.

Thanks, Paul. I appreciate the response. My wife and I are planning a trip to Africa, trying to get as much input as possible. Again, great photos. Are you going to post any more?

My wife and I are just back from 16 days in South Africa. We went on 12 animal safaris during this time. South Africa is truly one gigantic photo opportunity. I hope I don't offend anyone by saying that I took my Nikon B700 Point and Click instead of a larger camera and bigger lenses. I knew I would in some cases be shooting fast, plus it's smaller and easier to carry. Here are a few of my shots.

Nice set Paul.

Paul, you went at, I feel, the best time of the year. You have some great photos. Makes me feel homesick. Lived in South and East Africa for many years and to me the Kruger Park is great

Glad to hear you took the B700. My neighbor has one and her photos always turn out great. Yours are excellent photos as well, and I'm sure you enjoyed the convenience of the lightweight, long zoom, versatility etc. of that fine camera.

Really nice set. I've talked to some people who say that East Africa is a better bet than South Africa for photos of the big five. Any thoughts on that? It looks like you did very well.

The images by Paul Best are impressive...thank you for sharing. With regards to the question about East Africa being better than South Africa? I’ve had the opportunity to visit both...Kenya and Tanzania are teeming with wildlife in comparison to SA. I thoroughly enjoyed SA but I hope to someday return to Kenya/Tanzania
