My wife and I are just back from 16 days in South Africa. We went on 12 animal safaris during this time. South Africa is truly one gigantic photo opportunity. I hope I don't offend anyone by saying that I took my Nikon B700 Point and Click instead of a larger camera and bigger lenses. I knew I would in some cases be shooting fast, plus it's smaller and easier to carry. Here are a few of my shots.

A really nice set. Love the elephant. The cat in number 3 looks either pregnant or full of a good meal.

Hi NMGal, Thanks and you are right. The Cheetah killed an Impala and had a good meal just before I took this picture. Then a Leopard came and stole the Impala and took the carcass up into a tree about 10 feet above the ground. I've got some nice shots of the Leopard passed out asleep after gorging himself on the Cheetah's Impala.

Really nice set. I've talked to some people who say that East Africa is a better bet than South Africa for photos of the big five. Any thoughts on that? It looks like you did very well.
