Was worth the try. There's a certain quality about it that I find hypnotizing if you really stare at it. Thanks for sharing your experiments!

What's good: the original shot, with a lovely variety of colors, shapes, and textures, having a focal point.
What's bad: the filter jiggled everything the same, making it jarring and boring (a surprising possibility!) at the same time. I think if you alter some things, perhaps making some areas more blurry, overlaying parts of the original-----just playing around until the variety of the filtering complements the variety of the forms, you will have something that pleases you and others.

I appreciate what you are trying to do but it hurts my eyes to look at it for long. Not for me.

Absolutely stunning, John! This is one for the wall. Reminds me of Monet and the other painters of the late 19th century.

I like the effect in the water, but not in the trees themselves. I do think the image is pretty busy, and this effect seems to make it busier. So maybe a lighter touch, perhaps? I also like reality, but when I first looked at this, my immediate thought was, "what a great way to 'fix' my shaky shot!" Not sure I like it enough to do that, though!

So how did you do that?

I took a shot of a riverbank with a reflection in the water, cropped off the bank with the trees, leaving only the reflection in the water, processed that part of the photo, then inverted it and re-edited. In short, what you see is an upside down reflection in moving water. My wife is the artsy one in the family, and this was her idea with my photo and processing.

And, I’m not sure I’ll do this again.

I like it. It resembles an oil on canvas more than a snapshot.

I agree--thanks for looking.

Thanks, CathyAnn. Apparently you and my wife think a lot alike.

If we don't have some fun playing with our cameras, what's the point? Enjoyed this.
