Some responses indicate that I may have missed seeing that option becasue I was doing other tasks while installation occured.
It is not a problem - I can easliy delete it. Since I may have only have one version open, I eventually will delete it.
Thanks for the response.

You had to select the box that said to delete the earlier version. Unless you do that it leaves the 2018 on your system.

When I get a notice to install an Adobe update, I click on the "advanced" check box of the update, which brings up another menu allowing me to select "remove previous versions". I've tried both ways, first I didn't check the "remove previous versions" selection, and ended up with both my older LR6 and the newer LR Classic on my system. Later after I was comfortable with the LR Classic, on my next update, I selected the "remove previous version" and sure enough, LR6 was removed and LR Classic was updated. We are in control of our systems! This also worked with PS, and several other Adobe products we have at work.

You get the gold star. Thanks for clearing this up. This is what I did and I do not miss the previous versions and I never have any trouble.

I updated my Adobe Photoshop CC 2018 and now I have two Adobe Photoshop CC programs - 2018 and 2019. Both seem to work as intended. Interesting. I was under the impression that an update would uninstall older versions. I guess not. I do not see it as an issue to solve, but I may uninstall 2018 after being assured everything behaves as expected.

I think what it is, is that the old default on updates had the "Remove Previous Version" box automatically checked so any old versions were removed. The latest installation versions have the "Remove Previous version" box unchecked, so now the old versions are kept.

I have Photoshop 2018. Are there many upgrades that makes it worth while to go to 2019. I found when I went from 2017 to 2018 there were only a couple updates.

Thanks

Thanks for the heads up on moving plug in folders from cc 2018 to 2019. I move google Nik over with no issues.

You need to install PSP again. You can just go to the 2018 plugin folder and copy the PSP folder to 2019. Or copy the entire plugin folder.

Already installed PSP in PS CC2019, just had to remember where in my folders the "install" app was and to specify 32 bit for the install.

LOL, I'm not going to go back to a restore point to verify this but, I believe you're given an option to keep the old version or delete it, at the beginning of the update.

I've never had a choice. It's either update or no update...

After updating both Photoshop and Lightroom, Photoshop 2018 was not deleted. Then when I sent a Lightroom image to Photoshop CC, the image opened in PS 2018, not 2019. Removing 2018 solved the problem.

I ended up with both versions too. Plus an old and new version of Camera RAW CC. And I found Photoshop crashing when loading. I deleted the earlier versions and all is well again.
