You have had a plethora of suggestions, however one that has been overlooked is Craig's List. I have bought and sold on that forum 'with some precautions' and done very well. The system I use is;

1. Always talk to the prospective buyer/seller on the phone to qualify them as being serious. Forget emails and texting. When I buy or sell I email them my phone #, and if/when they call they are most often interested and a serious prospect.

2. I always meet in the lobby of my bank, (mine has branches all over the state) for security and if I decide to purchase I withdraw the funds, or selling I deposit the money immediately and am not walking around with a pocket full of cash.

3. If they don't agree to my terms of purchase/sale I say bye bye!

I have made some excellent purchases and sales on CL and the beauty of it is you meet in a safe place with security and the prospective buyer/seller can hands on evaluate the item. It is a cash only deal eliminating shipping and tax issues.

Just my opinion and experience and best of luck in your endeavor.
Michael

I don’t always agree with JakeBrake but I do here and now! CL is your best bet. I’ve sold a ton of stuff, and bought a ton of stuff. I’ve never met anything but nice people, I usually meet at a McD’s or well known landmark place. I like the bank idea, well done...this time

Try it here! You may get better price or you may not. It cost money to switch.

I tried UHH a few years ago on a Canon 'L' lens and received a couple of snarky comments and 'low ballers' PMing me I just gave up and sold it for my asking price on Craig's List.

Craiglist is good as you're likely to get the best price (buyers and sellers don't pay any fee, shipping etc..) plus the fact that buyers can offer more because they see the equipment before buying. UHH is OK too. I don't mind people low balling at all. I just don't accept the offer.

I’ve always had great luck with Craigslist. I end up with more in my pocket than I do when selling on eBay. I’ve got my motorcycle for sale on CL now, and will probably have it sold by next weekend, if interest is any indication (and it is).

Just make sure you take the advice that you’ve been given here to be safe. Don’t respond to people wanting you to get back to them via another email address, and whatEVer you do: DO NOT ACCEPT PAYMENT IN ADVANCE TO SHIP THE ITEM. That is a SCAM!

You'll do yourself a favor if you keep the D750 and 300mm f/2.8 and 24-120 F4. If you must have the Z7 get the FTZ adaptor and keep your lenses and use your D750 as a backup. My Z7 is okay but there aren't enough Z lenses available yet. You'll have a greater lens situation if you opt for the Sony.

I got a quote from B&H for my stuff and it seemed awfully low. Any suggestions for another site. Ebay already has a million D 750's on their page at around $1200. I want to upgrade to either the Nikon Z7 or Sony mirrorless A9 R3.

One place that hasn't been mentioned yet is KEH, They are in the used photo equipment bus and will give you a fair price. Check them out KEH Camera

Here is what the body alone has sold for recently. It's tricky selling a body with one lens, let alone two.

Are you sure going from a D750 to a mirrorless camera you are upgrading? You could be lightening the load but not necessarily upgrading.

I don’t think anyone would think that a Sony A9 is not an upgrade. It is.

I sold off a gaggle of Nikon FF at my local camera store for far more than anywhere else. Maybe give this a try?

Cheers!

In Adorama's defense, they're a business, with lots of overhead, and need to make money off of their time and liability on the equipment.

Are those D750s you mention on ebay "selling" or "listing" for $1200?
And remember you'll pay ebay 10% and paypal 4% of the sales price, and the shipping costs!
So if you "sell" there for $1200, you're only going to see about $1,035.

Follow the "for sale" page over on Fred Miranda, they will keep up the items sold for some time so you can see what things are really selling for (prices go away after about a week though). If your equipment is in well cared for condition, US models, you'll get some good return there. Big swing in prices based on those details as well as number of actuations on a camera body.
http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/board/10

BTW- I've been looking for a full frame Nikon, trying to decide between the 750, 810 or new 850. From what I see decent D750s are going for around $1000 on both Miranda and ebay, unless they are "like New" and only have a couple thousand clicks.

Wish I could make you an offer, but I need to wait until late November for some business/inc reasons. Good luck.
In Adorama's defense, they're a business, with lot... (show quote)

Just like any other site you won't necessarily see what the actual sale price is - sites like Miranda will have a fair bit of the deals going down via PM's and I'm sure not all of them end up at the asking price - my guess is that a fair bit of them sell for less. I for sure have bought items at a good deal under asking price.

The value of your D750 is what you see them selling for off ebay(this value is what equipment sells for, it is like the new standard for pricing). You won't get much more anywhere else. I look at what a camera sells for off ebay and price my stuff at that value and with only a fixed price for 30 days, I sell 100% of my stuff this way, my stuff is mint and I have the box and usually a low shutter count. You won't get much more than what you can get off ebay. Take lots of pictures of your stuff. list the body and lenses separately. Good luck.
