If you do upgrade, make sure you backup your old software and make a bootsable clone. If the new OS causes your mac to go south, you can reboot ftom the clone.

I agree, i did do a complete backup of my computer before installing Mojave.

Microsoft Office 2008 is 32 bit so it won't run on Mojave. Time for me to upgrade Office?

For those have installed Mojave, have you received messages to the effect that and apllication is not compatible and needs to be upgraded. I get these all the time with High Sierra, which I gather incorporates both 32-bit and 64-bit architecture. Are any of your older applications inoperable with Mojave, like Word, Excel, FileMakerPro, etc, etc.

Mojave still supports 32 bit, just like High Sierra does. The coming upgrades will eliminate 32 bit, like how the power pc mode was eliminated, but for Mojave, 32 bit apps will continue, but like in High Sierra you will receive warnings.

FWIW: I have found no issues running my programs under Mojave, including my copy of FoCal, which provided the 32 bit warning under High Sierra. FoCal provided that they are working on going 64 bit, but that Mojave still supports their 32 bit version.

Looks like they are correct.

I am relieved to know this.

None of my 32 bit apps work anymore: Spyder5Pro, Microsoft office, printer/scanner, poker apps, etc. I have contacted Spyder about this and am awaiting a reply.

I usually do the same with OS upgrades from Apple.

FWIW.....

Tested my drive speed prior to upgrading to Mojave, and again afterwards....

There is a speed increase for sure.

Left is under Sierra, standard Mac OS Journaled file system, right is under Mojave after conversion to APFS.

In another mac forum several said mojave killed their printers. Anyone here have that problem. I see one person mentioned their scanner no longer works.

I finally got all of the 32 bit apps to work by rebooting a couple of times. Got a message from Spyder/Datacolor and they are working on changing to 64 bit and should have it all updated before the next Mac ISO update. Sorry for the confusion but I have never received any notices or flags about the 32 bit issues from Apple until Mojave was installed on my computer.
