Could that have been "The Orange Blossom Special"?

SunRail 103 at Sanford, FL, 10/10/18.

A quiet stop with no exchange of riders.

I have no idea. There were no further description available on their website or at the station.

And I did not see the ghost of Johnny Cash.

The Cannonball ran last in Tavares, Fl, last year. (According to Wikipedia they lost the lease of the rails..) And Seaboard does not exist as a railroad anymore.

From what I read, the only running steam engines in the area now are those at W. Disney World.

When I saw these trains the first time, I was reminded of the passenger Go Transit trains up in Toronto, Canada.

I may be in error, but I thought someone wrote a song which was about disappearing and disappeared railroads.

LOL I was just trying to be funny - that is such a captivating song/tune no matter who does it.

For those not familiar with Sunrail, it is the local commuter rail system in the greater Orlando area. It currently covers 49 miles from DeBary in Volusia County to Poinciana in Osceola county with several stops in between in Seminole and Orange Counties. It is relativey inexpensive and normally only runs on weekdays. I don’t know much about trains but found it interesting that the engine always stays in the same position in the line-up. It pushes going one way and pulls on the return journey.

I agree with you there.

And then there is that lonesome train song.

Aha! No turntable or "Wye"!

I, for one, appreciate the further information. Do they coordinate with Amtrak?

I don’t know if they use the same tracks or not. If not, they at least follow the same general path. One station (Winter Park I think) is also the Amtrak station. I have gone from DeBary to Sand Lake a few times. It sure beats riding on I-4!

Appreciate the comment and thumb up. It does have that majestic presence.

As I travel here and there, I wish we as a country had a better railway system. At least to match some of what the other countries have done.
