Great looking bike. Ride safe my friend. Stick to the back roads thats what I tell my son when ever he takes his bike out.

Back roads are great if you're not heading to a specific destination in a specific time frame. So far about half the miles I've put on the new bike have been on the PA turnpike, but it will see lots of back roads.

A good friend rode a Shadow 1100 before getting a 2008 Goldwing. The Shadow fit her almost perfect but she had to get the Goldwing lowered so her feet would rest flat on the ground. The 2018 model sits even higher than the previous models.

My one disappointment is that my Shadow Sabre 1100cc is like a full dresser with fiberglass side bags and a rear cargo box which doubles as a rear seat back. The bike weighs about 800 lbs and doesn't have a reverse like my ex's dad's Goldwing did/does. There have been several times when a reverse would have helped me back it into the garage, up a slanted drive or parking area.. etc. when there wasn't room turn it around. But I still love riding in good weather, and in Florida, there is a lot of good riding weather.

When I was still on 2 wheels, I found that a headlight modulator REALLY gets you noticed! They are DOT legal in all 50 states. I sold my '14 Voyager and got a Can Am Spyder so that my wife would ride with me. No regrets!!

Really nice bike. When I was younger I had a Kowi 750. At 75 if I was to get another bike I think I would be inclined to buy one like yours.
Enjoy it.

I believe the 2018 Goldwing weights 833 pounds, about 90 pounds lighter than my 2013 weighed. I'm a big fan of reverse, it allows me to park places where most motorcycles won't or can't. I enjoy riding more in good weather but good weather in Pennsylvania can be quite different from good weather in Florida. I ride year round weather permitting. Since the 'wing has heated seats and grips, it makes cold weather riding a lot easier. One thing the 2013 had that the new one apparently does not is foot heaters. Anyway, as long as the road is dry I will ride, during daylight hours, when the temperature is in the mid twenties. Any colder than that is just too cold. After riding in 25 degrees, riding in 40 degrees is down right warm. I generally don't ride at night in the cold unless it's absolutely necessary. Getting bundled up for the cold just makes riding a wee bit harder.

I had a Kawasaki 750 Spectre for several years. When I get to 75 I will probably be riding a Goldwing trike. I've seen some really nice ones and they can carry more stuff.

It may have been me posting a photo of the bike from the Honda website. My first Goldwing was a white 1998 GL1500SE.

I still have my 2001 Voyager gathering dust in a garage. My wife rides a Kawasaki Vulcan 500 LTD and we are toying with the idea of getting her a Can Am.

For the policeman will this be like waving a red flag in front of a bull?
