I picked a quote related to photography and images to go with it:"Sometimes I arrive just when God's ready for someone to click the shutter."- Ansel Adams

Its liberating as a creative photographer to forget about making money or comparing yourself to other photographers and just go play with your camera. For me, its climbing sand dunes or wading through water at sunset. It brings me to life.

These are lovely Judy. I so agree with your comment, but for me I will add driving country roads....I have found it is my passion and I love it. A few from today.....
I can hear John Denver singing "Country roads...take me home..."

Interesting challenge, Judy, and should be fun!
Of the three quotes, I relate more to the first one, "Bring Your Whole Self..."
I spent 45 years in sales, and over that time, had to interact with all kinds
of diverse people. Being able to understand their needs, gave me a better
perspective on what's really important in life.
During that time, I also worked in a photography studio doing mostly weddings
and formal portraits. I learned all about the "correct" way to frame a subject,
but over the years, I've chosen to use "tighter" crops, either in the camera or
in PP. I know some won't like these, but I feel they best capture the person.
I hope these fit your challenge...

You Bring Your Whole Self...
I hope this is an example of Bringing my whole self..
When I'm shooting something I'm really interested in, I try to capture What I see as the essence of the subject. some shots I really have to work for.

Many Thanks Pat, I Love your work and your saying this means alot to me..
Time for me to be in bed. I never knew (until this article) how to answer the endless questions about what I like to photograph, or my style. I like whatever captures my attention - sometimes a small detail, sometimes a big picture, faces - you know how it goes. I like to try and get angles others may not think about. Below are some pictures from a Fireman's Muster at the Fair. Local teams compete in a variety of events which would relate to fire fighting skills. This one was the ladder run. Teams would push up a ladder, stabalize it and a member would climb to the top and ring a bell. I tried different angles that wouldn't be a distraction to the teams or spectators and finally found a spot. I also like catching other photographers in the act. The last image was taken at the pig scramble. People were so packed into the end of the ring there was no way I could see so I aimed for this person's cell phone screen.
My weekend....there might be one or two more before Sunday.
A place called Humanite where tourists are not allowed LOL
