Just joined the group, old-timer photographer.
Welcome macbeader, I joined only a week ago and this group has some very skilled photographers. They are most helpful. Good luck, Dan
Welcome! Digital takes a little time to become accustomed to, but I have done my best photography since I "went digital".

Just wanted to say, WOW, you sure have a strange way of welcoming a new forum member!
Don't know if you noticed but there were actually 2 new users posting. One mentioned a nice little EOS and the other asking if they should buy a D5600.
Nice little EOS what? There are several nice little EOS cameras and what is considered nice and what is considered little. Thus the logical inquiry about the EOS. Also, the poster with the nice little EOS said they are familiar with photography but not digital photography. A logical conclusion would be to suggest they pick up a good book on Digital Photography, not photography in general. I see no sense in advising someone on something they already know but can offer no advice on a camera without knowing what it is.
As for the question of should one buy a D5600; hell I don't know, should one? My introduction to them was really no odder than their introduction to the forum.
Somehow I doubt if I will hear from either. I was being sincere and willing to communicate and actually put a wee bit more thought and effort than those who simply replied, welcome.
And since we're on the subject, at least I responded to them. All you appear to have done is criticize me for how I responded to them!
Who the frack made you the head greeter monitor?!
And like I said, I doubt I'll hear from either. In my short time here I've seen lots of people join and few of them follow up.
Welcome to the Hog, enjoy.
Aloha macbeader and welcome to UHH. Digital is very much like film except you are no longer buying film and your computer now becomes your darkroom. Am sure you will enjoy the digital side of photography. You might want to purchase a book on digital photography. Or you could post some photos here and pick up up some great advice. The main thing is that you have fun and enjoyment.

Did not mind to offend you, but I thought it was you that tried to get the OP to buy a D5600 too, my mistake, I,m sorry!
