I do that myself from time to time. I spent $36000 for a new car just to have someone fling a door open and dent my new car. They drive an old jalopy and do not care.
I like to shop at Costco where the parking stalls are wide and I do not have to worry. The only thing on my mind when I park are my doors going to get dinged. My dealer even offers door ding insurance, Sad.
Parking solution: Going to a place to shop and do not like the options so I park on the back forty. Where no one in their right mind would park. All by myself and think I have found the solution. A little extra walk but figure it is worth it. Come back and find I am surrounded by other cars. The rest of the lot is empty but my car must be a car magnet. Go figure.
Just because some paints a line we have to comply. The lines should be to help but not to dictate.

LOL you park out in the back forty and when you come out there is somebody right next to your driver's door just to pi$$ you off or you get back to your car and there is a ding in it but no other car around. I thought and still do that the Costco spots are great but came out from Costco and somebody had hit the rear fender with a cart, a $400 hit because of where it creased the fender.

and if you don't follow the lines the others will still park close to you. So I just decided to keep driving the same car and not getting a new one, it just turned ten years old two days ago, still looks and runs terrific with a couple of door dings though.

Kept mine for 15 years and finally decided it was time for a change. I guess getting as door ding is a small sacrifice for all of the other improvements that time has allowed for.
Thanks for posting.
