REALLY?

Being a disabled person, I am appalled at the sheer number of people who have parked in the handicapped areas without having a handicapped placard. All for their convenience.

You guys are kind. I have stickers that say, in big letters: "Nice Park Job A__Hole." Put them on the front window right where the drive looks out. Or, if I'm unsure anybody is looking put them on the driver's side mirror. This is the height of selfishness and rude manners....they deserve harsh responses.

A number of reasons for this has to do with too narrow spaces. Nothing worse than another car parks so close you need a can opener to get in. And here is the biggest reason. When I pay 20k plus for a vehicle and some a#!$@ in a beater marks next to me and dents my body with his door because they don't give a Damon how much you paid for the car. Those are the rudest of people so before you bitch about someone else there are reasons for their actions that you may not think of.

I like to shop at Costco where the parking stalls are wide and I do not have to worry. The only thing on my mind when I park are my doors going to get dinged. My dealer even offers door ding insurance, Sad.
Parking solution: Going to a place to shop and do not like the options so I park on the back forty. Where no one in their right mind would park. All by myself and think I have found the solution. A little extra walk but figure it is worth it. Come back and find I am surrounded by other cars. The rest of the lot is empty but my car must be a car magnet. Go figure.
Just because some paints a line we have to comply. The lines should be to help but not to dictate.

You aren’t really serious are you? When I see comments like yours I am always reminded by my USMC drill instructor who said to us, “Look, everyone is out of step but Smith”. Lines are there so that everyone has a place to park. By the way, your vehicle, at only $36,000 must be a clunker.

What I like to do, when there are plenty of available parking spots, to people like that is park right next to them. This only works when the situation is the same as the photo, next to a blue zone since I have a permit to park there, and I'm driving our old truck. I will back in fairly close to the double parked vehicle so I have no problem getting out of my vehicle.
Some people will think, what a mean bitch. Don't you have anything else better to do with your time?! Yes and no...

They should have you towed.

I should make a sign and put on my window before I leave that says. Do not ding my doors and I will not have to park like that. Or if the people painted the lines would allow for doors there would be no problem.

Someone who hopes to avoid any nicks and dings in his doors by parking too close. I see it all the time in shopping centers where new vehicles are frequently parked this way.

Looks to me like the driver has a new car and parks this way to avoid the dings. (which was mentioned above.) Now in MY case, it's because they're making the new cars 'rounder' and the driver can't see where the lines are until s/he opens the door. I guess that's the price we have to pay to save us from the idiots who run red lights and t-bone the car in the right-of-way.

It all comes down to consideration and respect. The people who bang their doors into other's cars and those who park across the lines. Neither of those type persons have any respect for property or respect for others rights to park within the lines and do consider the inconvenience they cause or the damage to another vehicle.

I will forget your personal attacks. Now let me explain myself. Even though I do, I never park near a handicapped space and I always do it on the back forty. You being in the USMC are trained to not think outside the box but all things do not apply to all people, at least not in all cases. I see many of the lots with spots are not taken with many unoccupied spots at least where I live. And those are the ones that I take. I do not do this all of the time either but just sometimes. Sometimes I hold my breath and park comes back just hoping not to find a ding in my door. Door ding insurance? That costs me money, time. Dings costs me money, time. But that is not relevant.
Actually my $36000 car is brand new a Honda Accord sport, best car I have ever owned and I want to keep it that way. You should drive one and you would be amazed. 38 computers, price is not always a guide to quality. But I am sure you have the best of everything. Nice try on your dig though.
The doors on my car open wide, I mean real wide and I should not have to squeeze through a sliver to get out of my car. Most older people are buying Crossovers because they are easy to get in and out of. But they are missing so much more and I choose the other options.
Your comparison is lame and applies only to the armies. I know the purpose of the lines but give me six inches of more space and there will be no problems. Costco has no problems with their parking.

We all seem to need something to be indignant about. In a few years I'll be upset because my wheelchair squeaks. Meanwhile, the "wrong" person got elected, my camera cost too much and takes crummy photos, teenagers have no respect for people my age who could solve the world's problems if only people would listen, and the weather is too hot/cold/dry/stormy. Ho-hum.

Sorry but when you park to take up two spaces you can probably be assured others might have wanted one of the spaces you took. Your accusation of others who might ding your door is somewhat lame when I can probably say with accuracy that at least once in your life your car door has hit another vehicle. You being inconsiderate of others does not justify your assumption that someone MIGHT be inconsiderate to you.

I am fine with you denigrating the USMC because you probably haven’t the fortitude to have done it yourself. But remember the USMC is not anything close to armies. We are a highly trained military organization who does things you can only dream about when you think of freedom.

Have a wonderful day.

Seems like a self-defence more against 'door dings.'
