Outdoor Photographer Magazine rumors, Anyone?

Was also stuck with Outdoor Photographer when Shutterbug shut down. I'm not interested in a bunch of rich people bragging about all the wonderful places they've been, or all the super expensive gear they own. Thanks for nothing Shutterbug.

You can get free programs to read the magazines. I love my kindle and can also read it on my computer.

I agree with digital and thickness of Outdoor Photography. I receive Nature Photographer and I love it. Comes quarterly but wuality of pics and information is top notch.

Took this snap of a row of photo magazines at a French Airport this spring. They all seemed to be quality mags - at least all great pictures. Articles all in French unfortunately.

Interesting, maybe because I already subscribe to the once worth my money OP, but I received no advance email, just a copy of "Stereophile" with a sticker on the front telling me it was my "Shutterbug" replacement. I quickly contacted customer service and requested a refund. Surprisingly, the email answer came the next day and stated that I should have a refund within 4-6 weeks. One week has passed, but who's counting. Like the rest, I was disappointed to see OP become a shell of its former self about 3 or so months ago. My main read now is the UK "Practical Photography" via my iPad; not ideal for reading however as also noted by others. The only good size for mag read (other than a mag itself) is a 12.9 iPad Pro, but who wants to add a one time $950 (256gig version) to their subscription cost?

Yeah, the number of photography magazines in the bookstores is certainly dwindling.

Photography magazines nowadays are nothing but "infomercials". A lot of gear photos, but very little teaching. I remember when Popular photography own's Herbert Kepler passed away, I instinctively knew that the demise of the magazine was coming. Immediately, the format was changed, and little by little all of the sections were replaced by mere nothings until it became a "mumble jumble' agglomeration of images and words that sometimes you didn't know what you were looking at or reading . The fantastics lens review technical data and graphs were eliminated to a bare minimum table. eventually I let the subscription expire and never renew again. Too bad.

I also subscribe to Nature Photographer. I won't renew. IMHO, the images they publish are way over-cooked.

I didn't renew because all my photo magazines have gone the way of the dodo bird--I don't want another subscription to Popular Science
