It is a sad thing when a photographer is forced to leave the ranks of his peers. A very wise man who taught me a lot about photography said and I quote "There are no secrets in photography". What I'm trying to establish is that NO ONE PERSON is the singular individual who has superior knowledge in photography. All qoutes and comments to anyone's postings should be done in a subjective manner.There should be absolutely NO MALACE OF FORETHOUGHT! When someone without caring deliberately sets out to undermine anothers statements,well this is unexecptable behavior. If you feel that you must have a smug,and I know eveything attitude keep it to yourself and respectfully agree to disagree. Put down your thoughts but in such a manner that one one feels slighted and remember no one individual is greater than the whole. Some people may object to anothers statements and that's OK. If you feel somone is in error tactfully state your opposing views.
Every person is entittled to thier oppinion,but to diliberately undermine another just for spite is bad for the entire photographic comunity.
Please do not let one imature individual allow your friend to retire from this Ugly Hedgehog forum.
His ,for that matter anyones knowledge of photography and photographic related matters is always welcome,and should be welcomed by all readers of this forum.
It is with every and I mean everybodys insight that we can grow mentally. Good workable knowledge is an asset to all photographers.
There is strength in our community. There are some wonderful photographers in our community. Please do not let one narrow minded person chase your friend from sharing his expertice.

everything. The day we stop learning is the day we die. Photography is a constantly and continiously evolving art form. New cameras come along and new ideas come with it. Collectively by sharing on this forum we will all be wealthier in knowledge as well as wiser and hopefully better photographers. We need to think of ourselves as players on a team and in my oppinion sharing is caring!

Please note that exposing a bully is only a click away.
To expose a bully, view their private message they sent you.
On your computer, press and hold down the "shift" button and on the upper right side of your keyboard, find the "Prnt Scrn" button and press that key.
Open the paint program and paste your clipboard to the canvas (Press and hold "Ctrl" and then the "v" key).
The canvas will show the screen image you captured along with the bully's login name and the message sent to you.
Save this file in jpg format.
Contact the Admin (add him to buddy list) and ask permission to send him a screenshot of this bully's message.
The Admin will determine the correct action to deal with this issue. This is his forum. Trust him to act accordingly.

I had some bulling and encourgement from someone else, soon after I started with the forum.
Lucky for me the person appoligize and we are now BFF.
The other person soon came around also. Not all stories have a happy ending though. I was dealing with people would saw that they were overly aggressive, grew up and got over things.
Happy ending, let hope this one ends the same.
I really want this person to come back. They were one of the smartest people on the forum. We had become friends, and we will remain friends even if they don't.

Yep. I've just dealt with one myself but openly. I know who quit and I already offered my support. The problem we have is that all a person has to do is set up another userID and it looks to me like the only recourse admin has is to ban anyone coming from that ISP. This person I just had an issue with talked like they'd been in the forum for some time but showed a beginning date of today. This situation I had started late last night and had 3 or 4 chapters. With the new user name, the person I've just dealt with could be the one who was chasing the valued member who quit and changed his user name to dodge admin. Can't say for sure, but...

Every well said, I also would like to add if I ever say something and you are unsure the tone behind it, please ask me straight out. I'm a nice person, I don't want to hurt anyones feelings but since we are all communicating via typed word, facial expressions and tones are non-existant.[/quote]
I agree 1000%. sometimes people cant see what was said was in jest because we cant see faces or hear vocal tones. and what was meant as a little sarcastic fun can be taken out of context. however on more posts than should be i have seen words like stubborn, pontificating, beating a dead horse, and other words that clearly show intent of making a comment personel. Those i do not forgive.
I have a weird sense of humor because i am a little ecentric. ( I can put my self down, no one else can.) or in the words of animal house "hey he can't abuse our pledges like that, only we can abuse our pledges like that) I can have a very dry wit like dennis miller, or real lowbrow humor like monty python or benny hill. In the spirit of love and respect, if anything i have said has hurt anybody's feelings, i truly apoligize. let us have disagreements but never feuds. When Regan was president and tip oniel was speaker of the house, they would disagree in the day, but always got together at night and enjoyed each others company as friends. One of jfk's best friends in the us senate was richard nixon.

It's my high efficiency apartment. Just one 13.5' x 13.5' room for a whopping 182 Square Feet of luxury. I can flip pancakes on the stove while reading emails and editing. My iMac has 16Gig of RAM so multi-tasking is a piece of cake.

I don't agree with any bullying. This is a learning, sharing, Tilde "snickering" site as far as I know. Pleasant critque welcome. Sure there are spirited sometimes snobbish threads but by the end of it resolved I thought by group mentality in a good way. No one always right. Was someone really just singling one person out to be better than. Or as adults just a mean pain in the ass. I say out the person and let them leave. Have your friend come back. Negative opinions in the case are no good.
