Repeating what others here have said.....the biggest difference you get with the 5600 is the touch screen. I was one who thought I would never really use it, but now that I have it I have learned to love it (love the one on my 7500 as well). Is it worth trading up for? You'll have to decide that for yourself. I used to have a 5300 and for me, I'm glad I did it. The 5600 is also marginally smaller and lighter I believe, plus it has that intangible "newer technology" feeling to it. Only thing I miss from the 5300 is the infrared remote.

Did they really remove the IR receiver from the D5600?

They did keep it on the D7500, thankfully.

Concerning your comment 5600 vs 7200. There's really no comparison, still 5600 is a very nice camera

A simple question is not “ carrying on”. I know its hard for some people to communicate in a civil manner. I am sure I have knowledge in subjects you have no clue about, but I would never try to make someone feel bad about themselves just because I know something they don’t. I thought your question was excellent and I was following the thread. I have a D5200 and a D7500 with lots of Nikon DX lenses, so I'm always interested in discussions of the D5xxx and the D7500.

My comment about carrying on was directed specifically at Petesfixit who was enumerating features that simply do not exist on any of the D5xxx. I thought I made that quite clear by quoting Petesfixit post in my response. My response was in NO WAY directed at you or this wonderful thread, only at Petesfixit and his out-of-the-blue comment.

I hope this clarifies the situation.

I believe you are responding to a post that was not directed at you. Ched49 was responding to Petesfixit.

At any rate, Petesfixit was talking about a D7200. The D @ A/F that he was talking about it is the Nikkor D lenses that require the tab of the D7200 to control the aperture. These are lenses built before 1986.

Edited: Sorry, he was talking about the lack of auto focus motor in the D lenses and the requirement for the focusing motor to be in the body. The D7xxx have that motor, the D5xxx and D3xxx do not have that motor.

Thanks for the clarification. I guess I got a little confused.
