Haven't seen these guys in a few days. And this one showed up right at sun set. Couldn't get the shutter speed up enough to get the wings or good focus.

Yep, they're tough little guys to photograph. I like to hang around a Butterfly bush and try to nail one of these little fellows when they show up. Usually I only get one good photo out of every hundred or so I take. They just will not sit still, lol. It appears you're right, it looks like a Clearwing Hummingbird Moth (Hemaris thysbe). Nice photos giving the conditions you had to deal with.

I did get some great shots of them the start of Summer, but they have not been around when I am home. Work has me getting home to late again. :( Even the Squrrils are going to bed early. :)
But I do have a lot of Hummers right now and Butterflies.
