Spent a few days back home. These scenes are so dear to me - and likely so strange to some. Enjoy! Comments and critiques always welcome.
Kathy, excellent set of Americana.

My kind of photos--good old Midwest!
Outstanding series, something I don't see out here, thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Debbie. Truthfully, I'd never been to one before. But it WAS fun. My nephew owns and runs the sled, and he had explained its workings to us before the meet. I climbed all over it. This one was strictly local guys. My favorites were the antiques.

Thanks, Jay. I know Indiana looks pretty similar - just a bit hillier with more trees!

Thank you, Mike. I've not spent much time up in your neck of the woods, but I do know how pretty it is. I have found that every location has its own beauty.
I am feeling right at home with your wonderful shots! Tractor and truck pulls are very popular at all the county fairs here. Our local fair also has a combine demolition derby that is not to be missed! I am jealous of that quiet country road. State highway now bisects our place and makes for tricky/dangerous travel with our equipment. Not quite as much money in the bank as there used to be with the corn, but we ride the market wave. Even with the challenges, I still believe it is a great way of life. Thanks for sharing this fading way of life!
