Bring your photography to the next level and read the manual, find out what the differnt settings are for...shutter speed, apeture, iso. You'll be surprised what you can do. Buy a book on exposure. Don't go through life taking pics on "auto" mode.cjkorb wrote:

I take photo's explicitly on manual with my Canon DSLR...just wanted to try this camera right away...so tried it on auto. Will read the manual when I get it loaded on my computer and have more time. Unfortunately, most of us women prefer to learn through trial and error as opposed to reading the manual. lol

Confession time. I don't shot much in manual. I use shutter and aperture mostly. If it's a quick shot I fall back on auto. I'm still fairly new and I have to think when I make settings. My manual is too beat up to read so I go online. I have read Bryan Peterson's books Understanding Exposure and Learning to See Creatively. I don't have any idea why I'm saying all of this, everyone on this thread are graduates from film and are very familiar with what I'm talking about. Sorry I'll shut up.
