I've had my SX 40 for about 2 months and couldn't be more happy with it. Recently took it to South Dakota and that 800mm zoom came in very handy! Quality of shots is superb!

So glad to hear that...would love to see your shots from South Dakota! Bet you had some great photo opps out there!

For a backyard amateur you took some shots that a pro would be proud of!! keep up the good work. Maybe i should try the auto mode more often. Thanks again.

I know you will love this camera. I've had mine since shortly after they went on the market and keep getting surprised about by it. One thing you need to try when you get a chance is the Digital Tele-Converter page 85 of the manual. A while back I posted a picture of a redbellied woodpecker that I took hand held and it turned out surprisingly good for hand held. Note I am not talking about digital zoom, this is different. You will see what I mean when you try it.

You're very welcome. And I'm glad you liked the story. It's one that needs to be repeated lest we forget it.

Fantastic! I am sitting here at my desk with my SX40 looking at me and asking why I am on the computer instead of out taking pictures. It's hard to believe this quality comes from a $400 camera, isn't it?

Yes it is...I am amazed at what this camera is capable of and the reach...while still maintaining good IQ.
