You must have been here before! Hubby's were in the front and we were in the back...she started out on the down slope side but didn't last long...she made me switch sides! We usually don't go into the park this time of year...we wait till after school starts or winter...all tourist's have gone home by then and it's mostly locals.Thanks for the offer! I appreciate it. We've been there a few times, but I never turn down local knowledge. Primarily interested in wildlife but I've been known to dabble in landscapes on occasion.

Thanks...you will love it. It's starting to get smokey from the fires here but it's supposed to be nice weather this next few weeks!

A place I haven't visited yet, but sure want to go. I've been trying to figure out when to go. I don't do cold. I've been told that summer it's so full of people, it's hard to get good photos. The last time I was even close to there, the skies were clouded with smoke.

Thanks! It's beautiful any season. The Going to the Sun road doesn't open till mid to end of June, so the beginning of July is a good time - no fires yet, so no smoke. The tourist are just starting to come so it's not so busy but it's still cold in the mornings/evenings and still snow in the upper elevations. End of July thru beginning of Sept - it's very busy with tourists and depending on the fires - like right now - it's really smokey. Mid Sept to Oct - fall is wonderful - it's cold in the mornings but nice in the afternoons, fall colors and some snow starting to fall, still some tourist but not many. Going to the Sun road closes as mid October, but the park is open all year. Lot's of snowshoeing and cross country skiing in the park thru the winter months. Here's one I took in March at Lake McDonald this past year.
