The mid-range apertures’ results certainly look quite good for me. I lost out on a bid for a Minolta 100mm macro for film and digital use - seeing these results gives me an incentive to look for one of these Vivitars.

I am finding manual focus is a lot easier with a manual lens. I have been using this lens all day taking pics of flowers and my grand kids and am very happy, I don't think you could go wrong if you can get one in good condition,
