Has anyone used this lens. If so what are your opinions both good and or bad. I'm thinking of purchasing this lens but would love to have the thoughts of others before making the final move as the cost is quite significant to this old retired dude. I pretty much want to use this as my walk around lens. Any information to help me decide will be very much appreciated.

I have one and l like it a lot. It's my go to lens when I'm not after wildlife. It's pretty quick and has been pretty dependable. I did have to send for repairs after dropping it and Tamron had it back in less than a week in tip-top shape. I use it with D7500 and D5600.

Here's a photo I took with it @27mm

Have one and use it on a D7200 and D500 and very much like it. Quality is good with more than acceptable resolution and versatility is fantastic. Some reviews bring up CA and some distortion, but that is easily fixed in PP. About the only issue that bothers me is that it is a touch soft at 400mm, but no where near bad enough to avoid using it at full zoom. There is a good review on PCMag.com ( https://www.pcmag.com/review/358561/tamron-18-400mm-f-3-5-6-3-di-ii-vc-hld?source=autosuggest ), which gives it an excellent rating. It is the one lens I take when I want to travel light. OK, I usually put a 35mm f/1.8 in my pocket as well.

That lens and my 35mm is all I will take on our vacation to Hawaii with my Nikon D 500 in two weeks. My wife will take or Sony A6000.

I have one paired with my D7500 - it's a terrific walkaround lens and very versatile.

I use it on my D7100 and love it. It is not my go to lens but my photography is more people and indoor projects.

I traded in a Nikon 18-200mm to Adarama when I purchased mine.

Great lens at a great price.I just got back from Dubai and Zimbabwe where I used the lens on a Canon 7 d. I also used a Canon 5Dmark 3 with a 100-400 lens. The only difference was thousands of dollars!

I've had this lens for over 6 months now and love it. It's the most versatile lens I own. If I were limited to one lens for my D7200 this would be it.
Here is a shot at 400 mm 1/250 f6.3

Count me in as another who considers the 18-400 her go-to lens.
I love mine.

I bought this lens this past April and took it to Kenya and Tanzania for a photo safari the first two weeks of May. It is such a versatile lens I ended up using it for about 80% of my photos. In spite of the dust and some heat I never had a problem with it and would highly recommend it as an almost do all travel lens. Sure saves you from carrying more weight and more chances to break another good lens.

I’ve had this lens for a month. I’m very happy I got it. It’s well worth the money. The auto focus is very fast and accurate. It only took about 10 minutes to get used this lens. This lens is the most versatile lens ever made . I never see a reason to ever take it off my camera. You will love this lens.
