I highly recommend David Busch's book...easy to read, extremely informative...really explains everything and helps tremendously with getting the most out of the D7500!

You tube has a ton of how to videos . Just search your model an go. I did this when I bought my new Nikon D500. I have a D200s since 2005 and you tube taught me a lot about that camera too.

The Nikon D7500 Experience by Douglas Klosterman is also very good.

Mr. Klostermann's book is very good and covers the subject matter well. I also have Thom Hogan's 900+page treatise and that goes very deep into the technology of this amazing camera. However, the one that has provided me the most and best information to use right away is Steve Perry's ebook on the Secrets of the Nikon Auto Focus system. Mr. Perry's provides a lot of examples and real-life situations and believe it or not, expresses various opinions with justification attached. After reading through the entire text, I then reread parts of it with an eye to the D7500 as that is the camera I have. Mr. Perry's treatise has been updated for the D7500, so I just use ctl-f D7500 and now (auto) focus on my camera (pun fully intended.)

A lot of good suggestions here. Another good instructional video can be found on Creativelive.com. It costs $19, but the "Nikon D7500 Fast Start" video with John Greengo is well worth it.

Whenever I get a new camera I always the Dummies book and the Digital Field Guide books. I also found that watching videos on Utube has been a really big help. Some cover everything and some cover specific subjects. I usually browse until I find one that suits my purpose.

Thank you. I might buy both..

I have both of them and I do use both of them. If I'm looking for something in particular in one book and I need a little bit more explanation I go to the other book.

Thank you...there doesn't seem to be one on the D7500 though...

I prefer the Magic Lantern guides. I haven’t read Busch’s but it gets good reviews.

Yes you're right...I might be asking lots of questions one of these days..

What has helped me learn my D7200 mostly is this site. People leave a lot of links and answer a lot of questions that have been applicable to my needs. As I’ve progressed and want to leave specifics, I’ve always found lots of videos on the internet.

Thank you...Actually David Busch's book is cheaper than Darrell Young in the UK.

Amazon also lists books by Rob Sylvan, Darrell Young, Jon Sparks and Douglas Klostermann. All are highly respected authors and frequently recommended on the UHH forum. All are also less expensive to purchase than the Busch book.

You are correct. It apparently isn't out yet, although the camera's been out about a year. I like them because they're inexpensive, easy to carry in your bag, and quite clear and concise, compared to some authors who dither on and on. The Idiots and Dummies guides are so filled with unrelated and elementary stuff that they're useless IMHO. Get a good book on exposure and a good, detailed guide to your particular model if you're a beginner. If you're in the middle, then one of the more detailed books, like the Busch series, is probably worth it, but they're pretty thick.

Good luck!
Andy

Thanks. Actually I did find the Darrell Young book in the UK. It's not cheap here in the UK. I've got Steve Perry's book on the focusing system.
Thom Hogan's book doesn't seem to be available in the UK.
I would also suggest that you look at [u]Mastering the Nikon D7500[/] by Darrell Young. While the manual is short and not so sweet, this book goes into more detail on every setting and use of the camera. It, too, is a technical book, but one that provides a very usable index, which is what one needs when questions arise. It goes into more detail than the manual. My book on the D800 had 26 pages on the focusing system, for example.

Another book to check out is a a digital book by a great reviewer of camera equipment, Thom Hogan's Complete Guide to the Nikon D7500 which runs 900 pages.
Thanks...You're so right..I hate product manuals. It seems the Busch book got the most votes on this thread.

All camera manuals are written by Engineers who designed the product, and unless you are looking up a specific feature, are useless. David Busch's Guides are the best, IHMO. The "Dummies" guides, frankly I find too simplistic. And, I always get them as E-books, which makes it much more portable.
