Stop pontificating in area that need to left to science-based wildlife management. You will be helping the bears and the people who live in areas where bear populations are too high to be supported by the natural diet. Let the experts thin the predators where needed.

egegikbob is correct. Regulated hunting is the best way to conserve animal populations. Without hunting there is not wildlife management. If hunting is not allowed, where is the money for wildlife managment? Look at the 1937 Wildlife Restoration Act (Pittman-Roberts).

maybe there is a compromise here. Allow the hunt, but only allow humans to use hand wielded knives or swords. So if you want one of these as a trophy, you really have to fight for it! Oh, and obtaining a license strips you of the right to any government funded medical treatments related to the hunting forever.

Excellent plan! Ya wanna kill a grizzled? Fine, but you can only use your elbows.

That is great news that Tom won one of the permits. Thanks for sharing. That gives me an idea for another retirement activity. Apply for such permits myself to deny sport hunters from killing these magnificent and endangered species.

The absurdity of killing these bears is beyond comprehension. It would take a sociopath to want to do this.

Huh?

Only a sociopath would shoot a bear?

That's nuts.

There is nothing wrong with killing animals....in fact it's necessary for many reasons.

Stop the naturalistic indoctrination...quit drinking the kool aid.

I would pay to see Goodall go out and do a " Grizzly Adams " with a grizzly, she would end up as a snack like the bear whisperer and his girlfriend in Alaska that were eaten. They are not pets and they will eat you.

If people would quit killing the elks, etc. they would have a "natural diet".
There are too many people on this planet. Perhaps we should start "thinning them out".

No...they wouldn't but thanks for playing.

And I'm not surprised that you'd suggest killing people but saving animals...that's a very telling statement and shows just how screwed up the leftist mindset is.

If I could leave home long enough to do this , I would be only too happy to part with the $600.00.
After all, my money would have the same value as theirs.

You're not talking about "Trophy Hunting" here.

You don't conserve and endangered species by killing them

There's no difference. Even in "Trophy" hunting the meat is eaten and there are other benefits.

Trophy hunting is only a dirty word in left wing nut bag circles.

Grizzly bears aren't endangered.

A quote from this article:
Federal biologists say limited hunting is unlikely to harm the overall grizzly population in the Yellowstone area, and Wyoming wildlife officials at Wednesday’s meeting described the proposal as conservative. “The question is not whether you hunt grizzly bears or not,”

Republican Gov. Matt Mead told C-SPAN earlier this month. “The question is whether grizzly bears have grown enough in terms of population and in habitat that they can be a sustainable species. And clearly they have.”

Good information here.

Not for the Bears. They were on the Endangered Species list and Comrade Trump, and his fellow travelers, took them off.You don't protect and save a species by killing them.
