AzPicLady, sorry to read about your discomfort. I hope that is for only a short time and the recovery complete. The second image is really cool. I've rarely seen that kind of portrait done of a tortoise. The tonal range and clarity are superb.

Do NOT try this at home!

When I downloaded and processed my images from the Galapagos, I had thousands to do. Then I decided to make picture books for some twins for their birthday, and it occurred to me that I didn't have very many tortoise pictures. But every time I went to look, sure enough there were only a few. So I convinced myself that since I was in severe pain at the time and taking pain pills, that I just didn't remember correctly and had apparently not taken the pictures I thought I had. But it kept niggling at me. Yesterday, I decided to go back through my memory cards and take a look. Sure enough on the third card, I found an entire series of images that I had failed to download! And to think, I almost reformatted all the cards! So now I have 467 new images to share with y'all!

Thank you, Bob. We were treated to a very private session with a group of tortoises, so there was lots of time to get different pictures. I dropped down on one knee, just as he was coming toward me, and he totally filled my frame. There's a 2-meter limit in space, but no one tells the tortoises that, so we ended up being closer a lot.

I'm so happy I found the images, that's erasing the anxiety I had over them!

That's one thing that is odd. They impose rules but don't inform all of the parties involved. Then, when one party violates the rules, it's the other parties fault.

And if these are a sample, I'm looking forward to seeing the rest, Kathy! Wonderful shots of some rather grouchy looking tortoises.

They do look sort of grouchy, don't they? I didn't see any that were smiling! Even they were eating yummy fruit.

Very happy you found the images, and didn't format your cards. Too much anxiety

Thanks, Fergark. I was feeling quite sad about the images I THOUGHT I had! And rather stupid for not having them.

Very beautiful and glad that you found them, Kathy, and like Angela after losing a large set to a virus, keep all the memory cards just in case!

Thank you, Corky. I've never used memory cards as a back-up, as I find them rather pricey. I may start contemplating that.
