AzPicLady Loc: Behind the camera!

Do NOT try this at home!

When I downloaded and processed my images from the Galapagos, I had thousands to do. Then I decided to make picture books for some twins for their birthday, and it occurred to me that I didn't have very many tortoise pictures. But every time I went to look, sure enough there were only a few. So I convinced myself that since I was in severe pain at the time and taking pain pills, that I just didn't remember correctly and had apparently not taken the pictures I thought I had. But it kept niggling at me. Yesterday, I decided to go back through my memory cards and take a look. Sure enough on the third card, I found an entire series of images that I had failed to download! And to think, I almost reformatted all the cards! So now I have 467 new images to share with y'all!

Glad that you realized this before it was to late. To lose 467 images from a trip like that would have been terrible.

You got that right! Especially since most of them were of the tortoises!

Great tortoise shots.... love the first with his mouth full and the second giving you a very annoyed look!!

Thanks, Angela. I'm so glad the niggling kept doing its thing. I really don't like when the camera makes separate folders. Makes it easy for this to happen. They were eating grass and fruit. They do get a bit testy when one gets too close.

Nice pictures, what a great sounding trip. It would have been a shame to lose any.

It would have been a shame if you lost these images. Glad you checked before you deleted the card.

I do have one habit that might have saved them. I always LOOK at the files on a card before I hit format. Whether I would have remembered that I didn't have those particular ones saved probably depends on how much of a hurry I was in.

Thanks for the visit, fourg1b2006.

Great shots Kathy. I am glad that you didn't reformat the memory card. Memory is cheap, memories are not.

Thanks, Jan. SO AM I! I normally do when I return from a trip so that they are ready for the next shoot. However, I felt awful when I got home and did nothing! Lucky me.
