Situated in the small Sussex Village of Westham on the South Coast of England this is our little village church of St Marys the Virgin, and its quite unique in English history. After the Norman conquest, when William The Conqueror came over from France and landed at Pevensey Castle next to where the church is now in 1066, he marched a few miles inland to Senlac Hill where he defeated the army of King Harold to claim the thrown of England at the battle of Hastings. Following his victory this was the first church the Normans built in 1080. Each year we have a flower festival in the church and this is some of this years beautiful displays.

A wonderful set Geoff, thank you! These are beautifully composed and processed. The floral arrangements are a knockout and perfectly captured.
I appreciate the tour.

Thanks S1, There have been a few add on's and restorations over the 900 but theres still a load of fascinating history there, it must have been quite time for the Saxons that survived to have to change to Norman values? As for the harpist, she was lovely, she was telling me that her husband is a professional composer and munition and that she has only been playing the harp for 2 years, but you would never know it.

Geoff

She sounds like a natural musician; I think the harp is the most beautiful sounding instrument!
