Ask for images of the actual camera. They may be offering the empty box for $800.

It really looks too good to be a valid offer.

This is a scam. You'll text the number, and they'll ask for your email address so "mom" can email you about it. There are similar scams with the Canon 5D Mk IV, the Nikon D850, and DJI Phantom 4 Pro drone. Once they have your email address, they'll email you a private Ebay listing that looks legit. If you click "Buy Now," you'll get a fake invoice that looks like it's from Ebay, but is not. They'll ask you to purchase Ebay giftcards and then e-mail or text them a photo of the giftcard numbers and receipt. I almost got taken by this scam and spent a lot of time investigating it. It will be one of these four items (although there may be more)

Sony A7r3
Nikon D850
Canon 5D Mk IV
DJI Phantom 4 Pro Drone

The asking price will almost always be in multiples of $200.00 (They want you to buy a certain number of $200 Ebay Giftcards).

The ad will ask that you call or text a number. I have collected several of the phone numbers associated with this scam but am not sure if posting them here violates the TOS.

Good luck!

Check out a similar thread in a Nikon forum; it's the same scam:

I responded to one posted in the buy/sale here on UHH for a 5D m4. I knew it was fake but just wanted to play. Went back and forth for a few weeks. All they wanted was a WU money transfer to secure my camera when it came off the line. I offered Paypal and several other ways to pay but it had to be WU and NOW. I even offered to fly and meet them with cash but everything I offered was countered with a big excuse as to why it wouldn’t work. I’m sure this would be the same way.
