You can't just go cold turkey. Next time you and your wife go for a ride take all the gear. It will make you feel good.

BUT ONLY BRING BATTERIES FOR THE SONY!

Mark, when I go out to do any photo adventures, I regularly take a 4x5, Hasselblad 500c, Nikon D800e, Nikon F (or F5). Between all of them there are 12 lenses, tripod, light meter, and various shutter releases, cables, film (rolls and sheet) and filters. As soon as I have some custom machining done, there will be a second 4x5.

Don't feel bad. It's OK.

About three weeks ago, after much consideration and trying out a Canon M50 and three lenses, I returned them and and purchased a Sony RX10 IV. (It was recommended by several UHHers, for whom I have the utmost respect) So today, my wife & I took a beautiful ride on Old Mill Road that parallels the Delaware River as it meanders through the Gap area. Perfect weather and a wonderful ride. So, what equipment did I take? Canon: 5D MIII, 7D MII, 2 L lenses, Flash, :Tamron f/2.8, 17 - 35, Sony RX10 IV, monopod, Nora (my wife). My addiction to the L lenses and 2 DSLR's is worse than heroin. Are there support groups or clinics I might attend? (Forgot to mention 2 iPhone 7 Pluses and just in case, a older Canon G9) HELP!

I'll post a couple of photos after processing.
Thanks for your support!

I bought a RX10iii second hand from Ebay & love it. It has lots of hidden features. Buy Alexander S Whites book which will reveal them to you. Engage its Clear Image Zoom & you will be amazed. The first photo was with D7100 + Sigma 150-500 (= 750mm), the second with the Sony at full Clear Image Zoom (= 1200mm). You can set various buttons for various functions (e.g. focus area & ISO) & I have the centre button set to Zoom Assist which, at large zoom, brings the lens back so you can find an object (e.g. a bird) which you have lost track of; the zoom returns to full when you release the button.
My Nikon is used mainly for wildlife & it (+ now the Sony) will continue to go on safari with us (they drive you!) but for locally, when I have to walk, I shall probably leave Nikon at home & just take Sony.

Thanks, Bob! The whole point of the Sony, was to be able to be free of "carrying" 45 lbs of equipment ("the stuff") on a River Cruise in August. I have only 2.5 weeks left to get comfortable and knowledgeable with the Sony. I'm laughing because the only way to do that is to use it!! Every time I attempt to force exclusive usage, I drag "the stuff" and ultimately resort to using "the stuff". That's the humor. I'm going to try (again) today. I've decided I have to leave the "stuff" home. I have no resistance when it's with me.
It's really funny!!

LOL! A friend and I were riding along that route last month and stopped by Millbrook Village. This particular route is usually spectacular in the autumn.

Thanks Roger. I did purchase the White manual in hard copy and Kindle. I also have a PDF by another author. Knowledge is assimilated after reading. I resist manuals. LOL!! Any chance you might visit and tutor me? Free travel expenses!

So, what's the problem???????????
If you got it, use it! Practically speaking, you will continue this behavior until you find an advantage to the Sony.

On the mark, Dave! I'm trying. Maybe using my 5D MIII and concurrently the Sony, so I will not sacrifice missing a quality image. I'll try that today.
Thanks.

I don't think can wiggle out of this one Mark, unless you are unscrupulous and edit your post to read "I might visit" instead of "you might visit"

But this might be a blessing in disguise. If you have to sell your 'stuff' to pay for Roger's travel expense ... one problem solved.

Your condition calls for drastic measures but I am here to help. Pack up all of your equipment and send it to me. I will PM you with my address.
