I see allot of great shots posted with absolutely no informative data posted with the shot and ultimately you get people asking what camera, lens, ISO, f-Stop or shutter speed... was used. I get the "Hey everyone look at my picture" mentality but it would be nice if you would also include a little something about how you achieved that awesome result.

Yeah, there are indeed some who think it actually matters!
Whatever someone wants to share is fine with me.

I found no need to read the EXIF if the images are good. I only need to check the EXIF if the images have problems and the poster asked for reason why. I never remove the EXIF data from my images but never list how I took the images unless someone asked.

For most images, especially those attached using "store original" the EXIF data is available and contains far more complete, detailed and accurate information than any poster is likely to add. Many of us use EXIF Reader browser extensions for that purpose.

Talking about this. When I look at my pictures on the PC I can see the info in "details" f stop, iso, etc etc
When the same picture is displayed on the forum I try to do the same thing and nothing appears, any ideas and solutions about this, please?
Thanks
I've seen many photos where the information is posted. Many do not post information. Yes, uhh members do want you to see their photos, especially if they feel they are worth viewing. I have left countless positive comments on photos posted on this forum, wishing I could achieve such excellence, as a hobbyist/amateur. There's nothing wrong with bragging, if you can back it up. That pertains to anything. Cooking, boxing, race car driver, etc.

It depends what software you are using to see the info on your PC. When you are viewing through your browser you need an EXIF extension to do the same thing.

Some browsers have an exif reader or one can be downloaded. I think BebuLamar may be able to provide some accurate info.
It is nice to know info at times, but is totally dependent on the particular light and camera combo, etc.
That's also one of my complaints, most newcomers for whatever reason, don't want to say what part of the Country they are from on their avatar, I see that happening more often. People would post a photo of an old vacated farm house in the middle of nowhere and not say a word where it was taken or how long it's been there, just a little history can go a long way.

"Looking at a picture on your PC" leaves it wide open to how you are doing it.
If you are using Windows Explorer, it can show some of the EXIF information. That's how I have mine set up.
When you look at posted image, you are not using Windows Explorer to view it. Consequently you probably need an EXIF viewer add-on for your browser.

I downloaded and install an EXIF reader as extension of Chrome. It works for some images but doesn't work for other. I can download the images then check the EXIF with Photoshop. I don't pay attention to the EXIF unless trying to figure out what went wrong with an image.

I use Nikon ViewNX-1 for my personal downloads and check my pics. I enjoy downloading pics posted on the forum and magnifying for detail appreciation, but I do not get too wrapped up in settings due to the many possible variables. There are a few folks that I have PM'd for particulars and had some really great interaction. Been a great hobby!
