We have an airport about a mile West of us and about 30 minutes ago I heard this RAF B-25 Mitchell coming from a mile away. I ran outside to see hime pass the first time as he did a high speed pass. I knew he'd circle around for landing so I ran inside and grabbed some gear and shot these as he came back by. This isn't the first time I've seen this aircraft as it comes around at least once a year for the Air Show. Some U.S. versions of this aircraft have side gunner positions about where the British logo is.

Nice photos, pilot myself love any aircraft. With a clear blue sky background. Were you using a tele-photo?

Great captures. Really appreciate the classic lines of these old aircraft. Kudos on your athleticism to get the shots.

Very good image. Glad you can catch this bird every year. A Mitchell B-25 is all American. Dropped the first weapons on Japan during WWII. I've flown this noisy thing, and it's a lot of fun. djt

Yes - Canon 5D III w/ 70-200 f2.8L IS. These aren't cropped so kind of gives you an idea of the close proximity to my house.

Fantastic, would be so nice to have these warbirds flying that close, nice job of freezing the action of props! Well Done

Nice sharp airframe, but the props should have at least SOME blur, otherwise it looks like a total engine failure and he's looking for an emergency landing spot. I've made the same mistake thousands of times (probably on the same day!). Next Year's Oshkosh is going to feature the 100th(?) anniversary of the RAF and there will be many chances to shoot them if I can make it - I was there last year. Coming up in October near me is a show at the Spirit of St. Louis airport.

True - but not much time to think about composition. I'll tell you what - this gem has been flying over all week so if I get an opportunity I'll try again just to get the prop blur. ;-).

One of my favorite shots from OSH '17 was Doc and Fi-fi flying in formation with the moon in the background...one problem - those damned frozen props! I think I might have been shooting the B-1/B-2/B-52 flyover or the B/A's just prior and forgot to readjust shutter.

I have a shot of a Blue Angel going away and in a steep clime with a big full moon just above it. It looked like it was flying to it. I'll have to track it down and post it.
