It looks very much like the boats in the "Indiana Jones: Last Crusade" movie. Very Good Job!

KT, these are really nice photos. You've got some great tonality going on here.

In reality it looks like a lovely hole in the water in which to pour incredible amounts of money.

True of old boats in general ans Cris Crafts in particular. Incredibly expensive to restore and maintain.

Beautiful boat and photos.......I know how much maintenance it takes to keep a wooden boat in this shape.

Wow, nice shots. this is a beautiful boat. Too bad they don't make these anymore, if they did would probably cost a bunch. Keep up the post. Thanks

Tom
The last I knew, they were still making wooden boats under the HackerCraft name in a shop in Ticonderoga, NY and Spencer Boat Works In Saranac Lake/Bloomingdale, NY was making wooden runabouts under their name. Spencer's shop burned down shortly after I left the area and I'm unsure whether he is still in business elsewhere. For those of you who love these classic watercraft, the Antique Boat Museum in Clayton, NY on the St. Lawrence River is a must stop particularly for their annual in water boat show.

Thanks for the information I didn't know they still made them. The beauty of wooden boats is amazing. Thanks again.

We'll take a short time-out from cars. This is "Widgeon" a 1938 Chris Craft Barrel Back cruiser, one fine-looking boat!

Great shots of great classics.... Very nice!

Every so often, I pick up copy of Wooden Boat. I go to the classifieds and look at the free boats section. I see you are in Michigan, where old wooden boats have suffered hard winters on the Great Lakes. Mooring fees, weather, and expense of upkeep often have people giving up on some interesting boats. The other thing I have studied is the "Ghost Boats" along the Eastern seaboard and the Keys/Carribean. Ghost Boats are boats that have been simply cut from their moorings by tapped out owners. The salvage rights are interesting. There are many that simply float into wet marshland or open waterways.

A great boat. I spent a few weeks working at Silver Bay Lake George in the late 40s. We used to take the vacationers for rides in boat just like that one.
