Thanks so much, Val... I was lucky I spotted her from inside, so I grabbed my sx50 and waited for her to land! But still have not seen any other butterflies or dragon!!
All the butterflies know the home of the Monarch Queen!
LOL... Mike, she actually came back today and I saw her leaving her eggs!! Now the fun begins!! Today the last three of the original, went into JHook, so by tomorrow I'll have 5 chrysalis!
This little lady knows where I live, she's been fluttering around the milkweed when I was in my garden this evening!!
Taken with my trusty SX50
Very nice Angela! I have very few opportunities to photograph them. Because of the heat and lack of flowers they don’t come around very often. I always enjoy your posts. Terri

Hi Terri... I haven't seen you on in a while... hope all is well!! Thanks for your visit and comment... much appreciated and glad you liked!! My monarch nursery has 6 eggs in it already!!
Great shots, Angela! Hopefully she's just in the vanguard, the first to arrive, and there'll be a lot more coming now.
Glad you liked these, Cathy... can't beat that little xs50 for getting close when you can't!! Well, she did come back today and made an egg depost... I found 6 and have them in a nursery box... they take 4 days to hatch! If I wasn't outside when she was doing this, I'd never be able to find the eggs, I'm sure there are lots more that I can't find.
