Yes, I have a Tamron 18-200mm, and I'm satisfied with it.

Jerry, did you compare your Tamron with a Sony ? I purchased a Tamron 24-70 G2 a couple of months ago and am quite pleased with it. Do you know the difference between the SEL18200 and the SEL18200LE ?

Why not go with the 16-50 and 55-210 kit lenses? Cheap, very good for travel. Neither the best for low light.

The Sony 18-105 is a very good lens. It is an f/4 lens
and is not as sharp as a GM lens, it is not image stabilized
but it does a very good job. .....................

Thaz funny. My Sony 18-105 is stabilized. Thaz the
reason why I got it, to add IS to my beloved a6000.
I never separate them. All my other, non-IS, lenses
go on an a6500, for IBIS.

Not as sharp as a GM lens ? Perhaps true, not that I've
got a clue about that. I only know that it's as sharp as
a Sony 18-105/4.0 ... cuz it IS one ... and that means it
is sharper than the sensor behind it. Maybe when Sony
offers a 50MP sensor for APSC it will prove to be lacking
sufficient sharpness, in which case I will simply not buy
that sensor :-) Lens sharpness is vastly overrated.

Or then again mebbe it's the nonstabilized version of the
18-105/4.0 that's lacking in sharpness ? I wouldn't have
a clue about that one either.

Anywho, I can hugely recommend this lens on an a6000
for travel and such. My "serious" APSC bag contains that
combination, plus an a6500 with a 10-22 wide zoom. The
10-22 lacks stabilization, so it's on the a6500, cuz: IBIS.

Thanks FC for the link. I was there last night and then on ebay. I narrowed it down to the Sony SEL18200 and then I noticed that there was an SEL18200LE. The LE was about $50 cheaper. What's the difference between the 18200LE and the 18200 ? Anybody ? Thanks to everyone for the great input.

Here's a comparison from the Sony site. https://www.sony.com/electronics/lenses/t/camera-lenses?view=compare
