Has anyone tried to create their own website or know of example websites on the above topic. Is there an inexpensive way to do it myself.stem I know I have to get a domain, an email plus a management system to create a business out of it as well . I am average in tech. skills. Any suggestions along these lines would be greately appreciated.

thanks.,

A quick internet search found these:

https://www.meetup.com/topics/uav/

https://www.meetup.com/topics/aerial-photography/

I'm sure you could find more if you looked.

Not for that specific purpose, but I've created and maintained several web sites. There are places that will cost you a few dollars per month. There are several that advertise the cookie cutter approach. However, I'm not sure how your domain name appears to the visitor. I've always felt it looks amateurish to have a "your_name.cheapo_website.com" for a web address. I'm much more in favor of "your_site_name.com" sort of thing.

I have two servers at Ipower and another server at Interwrx. I'm in the process of linking two of those servers together. Shortage of time is the only roadblock at the moment. An additional company which I've only read about is Rackspace.

If you are going to conduct any payments through your site, you'll need an SSL (Secure Socket Layer). This puts an https:// in front of your address instead of just a plain http://. This will cost a bit more and can allow tie-in with a bank.

Many hosting providers supply some kind of click-n-build software to build websites and some programs also provide some site templates.
There will be a learning curve for you in order to do it right so navigation works well and it looks nice.
(I've seen sites people have done with very poor navigation and broken links.)

Your own domain, once registered, would be set to point to the DNS (Domain Name Server) server for your hosting company where your site will reside. They (the domain registrar and hosting company) can be the same company, mine are not.

Since my background in in programming (>45 years), I built mine using hand coding in HTML, PHP, and Java
Script.
But mine is not for a business, just disseminating my photos, and fun.

I just use www.Pixels.com . Easy to load, sort file and sell.

I have used Earthlink for 10+ years. They have everything you need to design and launch your site. If you have time to spare Adobe Dreamweaver is outstanding, but the learning curve may be more than you want to take on. There are tons of books out there that can get you up to speed. I started with DW and now do most of it by hand. It also looks like you are going to need some video editing skills as well. If time is of the essence than it's probably cheaper time & money wise to hire someone with experience. GOOD LUCK!

You may want to look into LiDAR, too.

The easiest one I've found is Godaddy. There out of Arizona and have templates for the basic design with add-ons to customize it to your liking. Simple tools and not too complicated.

By the way, I just started building these things and they're great. Expensive, but great. A nice evolution of photography.

Hi Fellows:

I am so impressed with response and suggestion to my inquiry about creating a Website. I am rather " take-a-bit-back" thqt such a knowledgeable community is out there and so free to impart their knowledge and experience. It has helped me and I am starting to dabble in creating my own website, both for drone, general and mapping services. I sincerely appreciate everyone's reply, and each one suggestion is very useful. Infact, I have seperately saved these replies for my reference in a owrd doc as well.
Once again,
Thanks,
Regards,
C J. Singh
