Although as a general rule I don't leave the camera in the truck because of the Heat in the summer I do have 1 or 2 backup batteries in the glove box. Should I be worried about these or not really?

Be safe than sorry. Batteries do not like excessive heat. Don't leave them in the glove box or trunk area in your vehicle.

As said it could be over 140 F (60 C) in the glove box. Typical manufacturers storage temperature range specs are -20C to 35C for Ni-MH. Li-Ion is a little higher, -20C to 60 C. Alkaline is about -20 C to 55 C.
You definitely want to avoid Ni-MH in the glove box. Other battery types can tolerate it but be aware that high temperatures will greatly accelerate the self discharge rate.
Where do folks with electric cars keep their batteries?

If I'm not mistaken, I believe the electric car battery is just a tad different than a camera battery....but u can go ahead and correct me if I'm wrong

Lithium-ion and Nickel-metal hydride are most common.
